WHAT ARE WE UP TO?

A lot has happened over the past year or so.  We had to end our retirement travels in August 2006 when Mike's step-dad (almost 90-years old) was in an auto accident.  We returned to Florida where he is living to sign him out of the hospital.  At that time we thought he would have to live in assisted living and were going to send him to California.  But, after getting him out of the hospital we found he was able to function on his own as long as he had someone close by to make sure he got to his doctors appointments, refilled his medications and took them and was just around to visit.  Mike and I made the commitment to be with him for approximately two year.

Somehow over the past year, living in the 5th wheel and not being able to enjoy travel, we decided we wanted to find a home and settle down as the 5th wheel seemed less and less enjoyable.  After doing a lot of searching we decided on Blairsville, GA, about 90 miles north of Atlanta.  We found a wonderful log-sided home on 1.4 acres of land in the small mountain town of Blairsville, just south of North Carolina.  We closed on our new home November 9, 2007.  Mike will be moving up the first of the year to look for work while I stay here in Florida to care for Dad until sometime in April at which time he will move to California, probably to Mike's sister's home.

When we came back to Florida I went back to work full-time for my old boss at Antennas for Communications and will continue to work there until I make the move in 2008.  The decision to end our short traveling retirement was a hard one but we are both happy with our new home.  If you are ever out Georgia way, let us know.

We found a very exciting and easy way to send greeting cards to family, friends and associates.  We liked it so much we became involved as independent distributors.  Although it involves the Internet, these are not eCards but are high-quality cards chosen from over 3,000 and then personalized online.  Once you click the SEND button, they are then printed, stuffed, addressed, stamped and mailed the next day.  How much easier can it get to send all those cards you think about sending but never do, simply because there isn't enough time.  No longer will you have to go to the store to pick one out; sit down and write it; hunt for a stamp; address an envelope and finally get it into the mail.  You can now do all that from the comfort of your home and at your own convenience.

We are so excited about Send Out Cards we wanted to share it with you.  There was even an article in the Wall Street Journal on November 22, 2005 that talks about Send Out Cards.  To read the article, click HERE.  To explore Send Out Cards either as a way to easily and inexpensively send cards out or as a potential income source, click on the Send Out Cards icon to the left.  This will take you to Send Out Cards.  Better yet, why don't you give it a try by sending a card to someone.  If you have any questions, email SUSAN
